Rescued in Hollywood, FL: JJ’s First Step Toward Hope
JJ, a young Taiwanese Mountain Dog, was just around 6 months old when a kind-hearted gentleman found him on the side of the road in Hollywood, Florida. Weighing only 20 pounds, JJ was visibly emaciated, undernourished, and had clearly been living on the streets for some time.
Despite his rough start, the man who brought him in described JJ as sweet, playful, and full of potential. He believed this pup just needed space to run and someone to love him.
And we agreed.
Finding the Right Foster Family: The Beginning of a New Chapter
Once JJ was safely in our care, we jumped into action. As a small rescue, we knew placing him in a foster home could make all the difference—not just for his health, but his future.
After a series of outreach efforts, we finally connected with a compassionate couple who saw JJ’s photo and instantly fell in love. Although they weren’t ready to adopt just yet, they generously opened their home to foster him.
Over the following weeks, they gave JJ everything he needed:
Nutritious meals and daily exercise
Regular vet visits and post-neutering care
Affection, enrichment, and consistency
Their love helped JJ gain weight, build trust, and thrive in a home environment.
From Foster Care to Forever: A Perfect Match Appears
One day, while JJ was out on a walk with his foster parents, a couple spotted him and stopped to ask about the handsome dog. When they learned he was up for adoption, they lit up. As it turns out, they had once had a dog just like JJ—and felt an instant connection.
After passing a thorough adoption application and home check, JJ was officially placed into his forever home.
